The RAV4 is the car we would pick for a San Diego family week. The cargo area takes a stroller, a cooler and four boogie boards with the rear seats up, and the higher seating position makes the 5 and 805 merges easier.
Add our Beach Kit and we will load two chairs, an umbrella and a soft cooler before you arrive. Roof rails are standard, and a soft surf rack is available at the counter.

Yes. Ask for a soft surf rack for $15 per rental day. Please do not strap boards directly to the rails without pads.
Most RAV4s in our fleet are AWD, but it cannot be guaranteed. Mount Laguna and Julian roads are paved and fine in front-wheel drive outside rare winter storms.
